Transfers

Hi hi, wow what a week!

I feel like I say that every week, but every week is just amazing! And terrible this time.... that's right,

TRANSFER CALLS.

You all know how much I hate transfer calls. All week I was a stress case, poor Sister McGee had to deal with me. But we got the call on Thursday night. Sister McGee is staying, and I'm being booted out! No!!!!!! I really wanted to stay! They're sending me to Anchorage, to the Ocean View ward, to serve as the Anchorage STL with Sister Galli.
Wow, I did not see that coming!!! I'm so nervous, but also super stoked! So there are only 2 companionships of STL's, one in FBX (that was me and Sister Johnstun) and one in Anchorage. So I'm pretty excited, cause I'll get to go on exchanges with all the sisters throughout the whole mission except FBX, get to help with the rainer/trainee meetings, go to MLC and go to all the Zone Conferences! It'll be super fun, and we'll work with the AP's and
President a lot. And serving with Sister Galli should be super fun. But I'm also really sad! I have to leave Sister McGee, they're cutting the umbilical chord!! So sad. And, this has also been my favorite zone ever!! We are all just best friends, and some of my very favorite missionaries are here :( I'm also really upset to be leaving this area, and the people here. This ward is amazing, and I have loved being here for almost 5 months. I can't believe I have to leave Kaylee, the Parkers, Tommy, and all the wonderful members! I hate transfers!! But at least I'm excited about where I'm going!

So let me tell you about our week. Super busy, as always. We were able to visit Kelly Parker once, since she's still
recovering. She's doing great though! The little sweetie, she bought us each a new purse, cause she saw how mine was falling apart! Plus $50 each in food gift cards! She knows us well ;) But I'll really miss that family, and watching them progress.

P-day last week was amazing!!!! I found a spot that I have to take you guys back to. It's called hatcher's pass, and oh my goodness!!! It's just like you're in a movie or something, just so breathtakingly beautiful! It was amazing, we went on a super cool hike. We also met a preacher from south Africa, who was so excited to see people 'fired up for Jesus!' haha it was great. He even left us with a blessing, which was fine until he started speaking in tongues.
And people say Mormons are weird?! haha it was great.

Cool miracle!!! On Friday night, we had an appointment to stop by the McNairs, our stake patriarch so that Sister McGee could get a blessing. When we showed up, he had forgotten that we were coming over, and had some other people over who were looking at buying a car from him. So we just kinda hung around, and started talking to these people. Turns out one of them was a member, who had just moved up here from Utah, and was less active, but wanted to know what time church was so she could start coming back!! And then we started talking to her friend, who knew nothing about Mormons. We told her about our missions, and then she started asking all kinds of questions. It was so chill and super cool. We asked her if we could meet with her and share more, and she said yes!!! It was such a miracle!!! That we were all there at the same time and everything... ahh so cool! So hopefully the sisters will meet with her and start working with her! Yay!!!

The weekend was full of saying goodbye to people, and packing.... my least favorite thing ever. Church was bitter sweet. Ahh this ward is just so cool!! Imma miss them all. Iyep, transfers are tomorrow! Excited/nervous/sad, so we'll see how it goes. But it's always my favorite thing to see my friends, so I'm pumped!!

I love you all, don't ever forget it! Have a fantastic week :)

Baptism!!

What a week!!

Thursday we got to go up to our wards girls camp for dinner and testimony meeting. First of all, the drive up there was the prettiest drive of my life! Why is Alaska so dang beautiful?! But it was great. I just love our ward and our young women so much!! They are all amazing girls. The testimony meeting was so neat, and it really made me miss girls camp!! I was so glad we got to go up though, it was super fun and a really good experience.
Then on Saturday, we had KAYLEE'S BAPTISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woo hoo!!

So I was super stressed all day, of course. You just start thinking of everything that could go wrong. But it was fantastic. We got there at 2, and started filling the font. It took about 3 hours. And then Kaylee showed up, and we got her dressed, and took pictures and everything. So was so excited!!! And then like the entire YSA ward showed up, which was so cool, cause they hardly know Kaylee, but what great support! We were so happy. So everything is hunky dory, and we're about to get started, when we decide to check the font. And it's drained about a foot!!! What?! So we run and tell Elder Pace, who runs and starts putting more water into it. I guess there's a slight leakor something. So I'm freaking out, and running around like a chicken with my head cut off, and the elders are trying to reassure me that everything will be ok. So we keep filling it for the opening song and prayer, and then turn it off for the first talk. Then it was time for the baptism, and luckily the water was high enough. And the baptism was perfect! I tell ya what, that feeling of watching someone you've been working with for so long, finally enter the waters of baptism, and make those covenants with God. And it's been really cool, since I've been working with Kaylee from the very beginning, and been able to watch her progress and change every step of the way. What an amazing road! I feel so blessed to have been one of the Lord's tools in His work, and to have been able to work with Kaylee.

Yesterday was her confirmation which was equally amazing. She said that she felt amazing and that she couldn't explain the feelings that she had. And then, the lesson in RS was all about learning how to recognize the Holy Ghost :) How perfect! So basically I think I'm the happiest missionary on this sweet green earth, literally living the dream!!! I love being a missionary, there's no more fulfilling work.

I think that's about all the news for this week. I miss you guys. Thanks for all you do for me, Love you!!

Love, Sister Dall :)

Tracting Miracles

Miracles my friends, Miracles.

First off, we had transfer meeting on Tuesday!!! You all know what that means, Sister Dall is in heaven. It was fantastic. But super sad too because all my friends are leaving!!!  Sisters Training meeting was a party as usual. President Lambertson, in the mission presidency, made me the sister techy, in charge of setting up all the tech stuff for when we have to skype people in and things like that. So that's kind of fun. haha what a joke, I don't know how to use that stuff!

Here's the update on Kaylee. We met with her twice this week, but both lessons were super short cause she was running to things after. We finished lesson 5, so now we're done with all the lessons. But we decided that she needs to have a stronger testimony of the BOM. so that's what we focused on in our lesson with her on Saturday. We showed her some cool videos on our handy little iPads, and told her how important it is for her to have her own testimony. We don't want to baptize her unless she knows it's true, and has had a confirmation. She's just not super into the BOM, which is understandable. It's hard for her to understand, and she's not super driven to read. She never does her reading assignments, and when we read with her, she never gets too excited. So we're really praying we can figure something out to get her more interested. Lots of prayers! But we were able to take a YSA to that lesson which was good. Trying to get her more involved with the YSA so that she'll want to go to church with them, and possibly quite her job so that she can. It's kind of a mess. But she comes to the 9 o'clock meeting with us every week :)

Ok ready for one of the miracles this week? Here goes.
So we were doing our weekly district tract, and we were in the Fishhook Elders area. The Elders started at one end of the street, and we started at the other, and we were just gonna meet in the middle. So we knocked on one door, no one home. knocked on the second, smelled drugs and bolted. Walked up to the third house, and there was a lady standing outside her house, watering the grass. So we walked up and started talking to her. She was really nice and didn't mind talking to us. So we started talking about religion, and turns out she's very religious. She was raised baptist, but goes to a non-denominational church now. But she talked to us about what she believed, and it was crazy because everything she was saying, was what we believe!!! So we were like 'we need to teach her the restoration'. So we asked her if we could teach her a little about what we believe and she said 'ya, I've always wondered what Mormons believe!'

So we went inside her house (which RARELY happens while tracting in Alaska) and sat down and taught her and her 14 year old daughter the Restoration, while using the nifty pamphlet app on the iPads! It was a great discussion. She agreed with everything, and was asking all the right questions, like 'well if there were all these different churches, with bits of truth, what was the missing piece that none of them had?' are you kidding me?? The Priesthood!!!!! haha we were almost laughing in the lesson because of how prepared they were. So we gave them a BOM and challenged them to read and pray about it. We also told them to watch meet the Mormons which is on Netflix, and gave them the time and address of church, and our number. We told her that we have more we can teach her, if she's interested. She said that she was glad we stopped by and that she would probably call us later!!!! So it's not like she committed to become a new investigator right there or anything, but hey it was still really cool!! At least a large seed was planted! It was an incredible experience that i will never forget. I've never experience anything like it!!!! The Lord is amazing :)

Remember the friend of a member I told you about? The one who is super excited to meet with the sister missionaries? Well, we have an appointment to finally meet with her this week!!! Kelly Parker, we are so excited!!!!! She sounds super prepared and ready to learn so we couldn't be happier! And it will be in a members home, so perfect! So I'll be tellin ya how that one goes.

Not much else to report this week. Oh, it's freaking hot here!!! Yesterday I thought I was going to die, it was 78 degrees!!!!!!!! Oh dear.... what has Alaska done to me?! But seriously, it's sweltering. And I'm getting a nice watch tan line :)

Hope your summer is going well and that you're doing fun and cool things!! keep on keepin on, and look for the miracles. Remember to always be ready to share what we have, if the Lord places someone in your path that He has prepared. Love you all!!

ipad-ing

Weird... I'm currently typing this from my new iPad... Haha I don't
know how to use this thing!

So on Wednesday we spent all day in anchorage getting trained. We had elder neilson of the 70, who is now over the missionary department, and brother Kelly mills, president of international mtcs train us. And boy was it good. It was more like life training than iPad training. So much knowledge! So we got to shake their hands and listen to them for 4 hours. My perfect day! And then we sat at their table for lunch after, no big deal. It was also awesome because they flew all the missionaries in from everywhere, so I got to see so many friends!! Hooray  (weird that I can use emojis).
At the end of the training, they handed us all our brand new iPads. So this puppy is mine. But I don't really use it a whole lot, haha. I just feel so disobedient! But I'm slowly figuring it out. Sister McGee calls me the Amish missionary because I still use my scriptures to study haha. So the way that this works, is we'll get more things on the iPads over the next few weeks. We'll get the area books, and then later on, Facebook. Now that's going to be weird. So for now we basically just use gospel library and lds tools. We only have wifi, so when we need to download a video or something, we run over to the church to use the wifi or sit in mcdonalds parking lot or something haha. It'll take more adjust not, that's for sure. But we're able to read emails throughout the week whenever we get them, but can only respond on Mondays. So that's a change. Anyway, enough about iPads.

We had a fantastic week in the way of kaylee and miracles. I'll start
with kaylee. We finished teaching her lesson 4, which went well. Then
on Saturday we were able to take her to the elders baptism, so she
could so what s baptism is like. It was so good for her! She liked it
and I think it made her more excited then we took her to the ysa
summer kick off party, and the beach! It was fantastic! Lots of people
were introducing themselves to her and talking to her, it was perfect!
Elder pace and I were just standing in the background scheming and
trying to convince cute boys to go talk to her. Haha it was great!

Something else super fun that happened, is Abi, my friend from
Fairbanks, was down here for the weekend. So she took sister McGee and
I out for lunch, and went to the baptism and the ysa activity with us!
It was such a party!! Abi is like easily the coolest person I know and
I've missed her so much!! She is in ysa in Fairbanks, and we spent
pdays with her cause she's cool like that. But she's the most
incredible member missionary I've ever met and I want to be just like
her! So it was a tender mercy that she got to spend some time with us,
I love her so much!!

Ok miracle moment of the century, and you ready?! So we do district
tracts every week, where the whole district will go trackting in one
area. So on Friday we were all in the cottonwood elders area. They
chose a street for us to do, and so we went there. There were a bunch
of apartment complexes, so we just hit up all those. We had done a
bunch and we weren't having any success. It was also blazing hot (a
whole 73 degrees!!) so we were a little grumpy. We knocked on a door
and a girl answered and said "I know you guys". We were like 'what? We
don't know you'. And then she said "you know kaylee! I'm kaylee's best
friend, Beth". What the heck? We tracted into our investigators best
friend!! So she let us in, and told us she recognized us from pictures
that kaylee posts of us on Instagram, and Facebook. We were all so
surprised, and it was so cool! So then we proceeded to tell her about
how we've been meeting with kaylee and teaching her. We talked about
what we've been teaching her, and how great it is! Then Beth's
boyfriend walks in, and we tell him as well. So we were able to give
both of them a Book of Mormon, and they were really excited about it.
They said that we would all have to meet together sometime....

I mean, I guess so if you insist.

Holy cow, MIRACLE!! When we got back in the
car, we had a huge freak out moment. It was amazing! The Lords hand
was so in all that, he is definitely directing this work! The elders
were inspired where to send us. So cool, so cool. So hopefully we'll
get to start teaching Beth and Matt as well!

I think that's all the excitement for now. We got transfer calls on
Thursday and of course, we're both staying!
Everything is awesome and we're so happy! Thanks for all the prayers
and love, they sure do work! I love you all, have a grand week, and
expect miracles!!
Love, sister Dall

P.S. we had the coolest Pday on the beach this week!

Miracles Left, Right and Center!

Well this week was just riddled with miracles!!!

What a great week. We had a lesson with Kaylee, a few days after she and Kyle broke up. It was the greatest thing ever! She said she recognized this as God directing her life in a new direction and that He was looking out for her. She's actually really happy, so it was such a good thing they broke up. But here's a cool little thing. In district meeting that day, before we met with her, we asked the district for suggestions on what to share with her, that would comfort her and teach her a gospel principle at the same time, at this crucial moment. Elder pace suggested that we show her the 'patterns of light' videos by elder bednar (if you haven't all seen those I would HIGHLY suggest you watch them), and that we share 1 nephi 4:6-7. So we did, and it went great. She loved the videos, and it was just what she needed to hear at that moment.

Well, later that night we had the opportunity to watch the face2face broadcast with Elder and Sister Bednar with the youth in our ward. And what was one of the things he talked about? The same things he says in his patters on light videos. And what scripture did he reference? 1 Nephi 4:6-7. How neat! So that was just a cool little moment where we knew that elder Pace was inspired to share those with us, and then it was a confirmation that we had shared the right thing, when Elder Bednar used the same things! #miracle

Later in the week we met with Kaylee again at the castlemans. We had a lesson on temples and eternal language. It was just what she needed! She LOVED it!! She said that it was something she definitely wanted in her life, and that it was a new goal to make it to the temple someday! Perfect!!! So then we told her that we would find her a cute returned missionary to take her to the temple, and she's all for it!! So that was just the best.

Then she came to church yesterday, and the talks were all about the priesthood and how important it is in our lives. How much better could it get?! She really liked it. So things are really moving along with her, and we're hopefully going to put  her on date soon. We are bringing her to one of the elders baptisms this weekend, so then she'll get an idea of what it's like and everything. Woo hoo, we're so excited!!

Sister McGee is doing just great. She's a natural! She's a great teacher during lessons, and I have a lot of proud mom moments :)

Fun news of the week, I got attacked by a huge dog. So that was fun. NOT!  I hate dogs and I'm so done with them.

But other than that, things are going splendidly! The weather is super nice all the time and everything is getting green! haha ok, well it's nice weather to me. I'm totally alaskan now. It was 65 the other day and I was sweltering, so I rolled down the windows. Poor sister McGee was freezing, she hasn't acclimated yet :)

Miracles are happening left right and center and it's so exciting to be a part of it all. We go to Anchorage on Wednesday to get our iPads, and have the training so that's really exciting!! I don't know like any details so I guess we'll just find everything out when we get there. But it should be fun. Ok, I love you all, don't forget it! Thank you for the continued prayers and love being sent our way. I love Alaska so much, and I love this work even more!! Have a great week and expect miracles!

Love, Sister Dall :)

Wasilla Week 10

Well hello there, long time no see!

Haha well my sweeties, it was so great to see you yesterday!

This week was seriously filled with miracles, left right and center. We had a great lesson with kaylee, and she's totally progressing. Remember how I told you that she and Kyle might be breaking up? well it's official now. She called us last night and cried to us, the poor thing. She said that she knew she would feel better after talking to us though. We were able to comfort her and share some quotes and scriptures with her. It was actually a really awesome teaching moment. We're convinced this is the Lord, trying to help her turn around her life. I mean, one less investigator for us, but it's totally a blessing in disguise. Now she won't have anything holding her back, and we can introduce her to a nice Mormon boy that will take her to the temple!! haha and we told her that and she said, 'I'm totally up for that!' haha so this is perfect! So that was GREAT!

We also received like 3 referrals from members, and all of them seem to be super interested! It's so great to see the Lords hand so apparent in this work, I just love it! We have been staying super busy so it's great.
This week we don't have any big meetings or trips to Anchorage or anything, so we should be able to crack down and really keep things rolling. And then next week, iPads! Again, so weird.

So life is oh so good. I mean, everyday has its ups and downs, but I know I'm doing the greatest thing there is to do! And I'm so happy doing it :) Plus everything is starting to get green here, so like that's a bonus. sorry I don't have much else to say, haha I guess I said it all yesterday. Just keep being awesome people.

And really, focus on the Book of Mormon!! When we take time out of our day to study that book, miracles happen. Everything we ever need to know is in there! And take up Elder Bednars challenge, and start reading with a question or specific topic in mind. It makes a world of difference and helps you learn so much! Ahh I'm just in love with that book, and can't say it enough. Have a fantastic week and expect those miracle!!!

I love you!
Love, Sister Dall :)

Paradise in Wasilla

Alrighty, just another week here in paradise!

This week was super busy full of lots of different things.

Monday we had a zone BBQ which was pretty fun. Oh, except for when we were playing sports after. The elders were playing dodge ball, but I wasn't playing because have you seen how hard boys can throw those balls???? It's ridiculous. Anyway, I was just sitting on the stage, minding my own business, and Elder Bradshaw hucks a ball all the way across the gym and it smacked me right square on the left side of my face. I think I went into a daze. The whole room just went silent, and everyone thought I was a gonner for sure. So the whole left side of my face was bright red, and I had a lovely goose egg on it for awhile, but other than that I'm right as rain! I think I was a little loopy for the rest of the day though... poor thing, elder Bradshaw felt so bad!! It was hilarious though, I just laughed about the whole thing.

Tuesday we had a lesson with Kaylee, teaching her the Word of Wisdom!!! It actually went really well. She said she understood it all and it made sense. But it's going to be pretty hard for her to give up her tea and coffee.... so that's the current road block. But we asked her to pray for a baptism date, to work towards.

Wednesday was zone conference! It was so fun, oh my goodness!!!! It was all book of Mormon themed, so we went on a little hike, pretending we were lehi and his family journeying in the wilderness. The AP's had all these cool activities for us to do during the whole thing, like searching for the gold plates, walking across a slack line to represent the iron rod, and it was just so much fun! At the end we had a testimony, in the wilderness of Alaska, next to a lake with Eagles soaring overhead. Tell me if there's anything cooler than that. There's not! Needless to say, I was in heaven. So that was fantastic, and there was an amazing spirit.
our little district at zone conference

It's finally summer her in Alaska, and I am loving it. We never really see darkness anymore, and it keeps getting brighter earlier and earlier. It's cool waking up at 6:30 and the sun already being almost overhead :) So with the better weather, we've been doing some more tracting. I used to hate tracting, but for some reason I really like it now! But we've had a bunch of good experiences. Nothing like new people to teach, but just meeting lots of nice people who we get to talk to. So that's been fun.

Yesterday was pretty great. We brought Kaylee to the 9 o'clock church, because she works all afternoon, during our church. It was testimony meeting, so we were a little worried at first, but it was so great! The Lord provides. All the testimonies were perfect for her, and there was a good spirit present. I think she really liked it! So hopefully we'll keep taking her to that meeting. We've also started doing lots of active member lessons, trying to get into every active family's house to get to know the ward better. So that's been really fun.

So everything is wonderful. It's sunny and happy, the members are incredible, we have a lot of work, and our investigator is doing great. Life couldn't be any better!!! oh wait, it could! I get to skype with you wonderful family on Sunday!!!!!! I hope you didn't forget.... haha it's gonna be a party. So I'm looking forward to that for sure. Keep on keepin' on and don't forget to smile everyday, and look for the miracles that are all around us!!!

Love, Sister Dall :)

Wasilla Life

Hello hello my friends!

Life is good. Everything is going great and I am one happy camper :)

Things with Kaylee are really progressing!!! We taught her the law of chastity on tuesday, and it couldn't have gone better. It was received so well, with no problems.

On Friday, we had our movie night! She and her boyfriend Kyle came over to the Castlemans to watch 'meet the mormons'. Ok, I was just super excited to watch it again myself. But the spirit was definitely present, and I know both of them felt it. After, we had a little discussion about it. everyone went around and said their favorite part. Kyle doesn't talk very much, but we could tell that he liked the movie. Then we asked Kyle if he would take the lessons. It was a super powerful moment, the spirit was strong and we could all feel it. He said yes!!!! NEW INVESTIGATOR!!!! Oh man, we could hardly contain our excitement! But the best part was next. Then Kaylee kinda bore her testimony about how she knew that we had been put in her life by the hand of God, and he was reaching out to her through us. Then she told Kyle that she knew that this was God reaching out to him too, through us. How cool!!! Such a miracle. Kaylee even started to cry when she told us how much she loved us, and how much we had done for her. awwww! My heart melted and then expanded 10 fold! So we were just on cloud 9. Best day ever!!!

I also had a little tender mercy the other day. Don't laugh, it's kind of silly. But we had dinner at a members house, and she owns a dance studio here in Wasilla. So of course I just had the time of my life talking to her all about it. She offered to give us a tour of her studio!!!! YES! So we drove to her studio and she showed us around. It is such a nice studio, and I was in heaven! I was just happy to step foot inside a studio again.

So yes, we are very happy here. The ward is incredible and I really love all the members a lot. They've really taken us under their wing and we feel very loved and blessed. I'm glad that I know we'll both be here for at least 10 more weeks! Miracles are happening and we are excited about it!

You all are the greatest and I love you with all my heart! Have a happy week!
Love, Sister Dall :)

Training

Wow, so here we are, I'm a mom! hahaha well, a trainer at least.
So let me tell you all about it.

Tuesday morning I was so nervous I thought I was gonna up chuck. We got to Anchorage and Sister Wright and Sister Strong dropped me off at the mission home. I chilled there with President, the AP's and the other 4 trainers (Sister Ogden, Elder Nelson, Bowen and Justice) who are all my buddies, while we waited for the trainees to finish their studies. We all remained hidden while they all went downstairs. Then all the trainers, President and the AP's had a meeting and talked about being trainers. Elder Brown assured me that both the trainee sisters were really normal and excited to work. So that made me feel a little better. And then, we went down stairs to meet them!!

You probably don't remember how this works, since that happened 10 whole months ago for me. But all the trainers line up on one side of the room, and the trainees line up across from them. There's a big map of Alaska on the wall, and a fishing pole. President asks the trainees one at a time, to point with the fishing pole where they think they'll be going. Then he tells them where they're going, and that's how we the trainers, find out who our little baby is. The first sister to go was Sister McGee. President gave me the look, and I knew she was mine! I almost tackled her to the ground when I ran up and hugged her, because I was so excited!

She's so cute, just a little sweetie. She's from Highland Utah and she's so excited to be here and get to work! It's great! So we had a little lunch after, and got to know each other a little better. Fast friends. Just instant friends! The Lord is good!!!

Then we headed to.... transfer meeting!!!!!! Woo hoo!!  I got to see all my friends and I was in heaven! It was just a blast and a half.

Then after that, we ran over to the mission office. Oh dear. Everyone was telling me I had to go over to the mission office, but no one would tell me why. So we show up... and I saw why. The mission office has a board with all the pictures people send in put up. And up in the corner, there was a whole section devoted to yours truly. how embarrassing... I'm including the picture.

And then we headed back to Wasilla!! So Sister McGee has now been in Alaska for 1 week, and she's doing great!!! I love her so much. She's ready to work hard and wants to see miracles. So we'e gonna work so hard these next 11 weeks and it's gonna be awesome! Love that greenie fire haha. It hasn't been too bad for me. I just have to remember that she's new and doesn't know everything yet. Heck, I don't even know anything either, so we're learning together. But lots of patience :) I really do love her though and we're already best friends. I'm so excited for these next two transfers. And I love love love this ward. I just keep getting sent to the best wards! The members are incredible and love us so much. The Bishop is super missionary minded and it's awesome. We don't have a lot of investigators, but that's ok, we're working on it!

We met with Kaylee 3 times this week. She's still progressing and eager to learn. We're going to watch meet the mormons with her on Friday, I'm so excited! So that's going great. She also brought her non-member boyfriend to our last lesson. Wow, how neat!!! He didn't seem too interested, but maybe something will come of it.

Anyway, I'm very happy right now, and so excited to just WORK HARD. I know we will see miracles if we just give it everything we've got. Missionary work is the best!!! I love you guys so much and pray for ya'll daily. Keep being amazing, and expect miracles!!! Love you!!

Love, Sister Dall :)

transfer calls

Hello hello!

This week was pretty fantastic. I was really worried about the whole trio thing, but it's been fantastic! We all get along really well and have so much fun together. Woo hoo, prayer works!!!! Not much exciting happened this week. We had another lesson with Kaylee, and she wants to get baptized, but wants to wait until she's ready. Good choice because i'm not sure she totally understands what all comes with baptism. But we'll make sure she does before we dunk her! She's awesome, I just love her :)

Well the big news for the week, transfer calls!! I know, you didn't even know they were coming up because I haven't even talked about them yet! That's because for the first time in my life, I wasn't stressed about it! I pretty much knew I'd be staying, but didn't know who would come here with me. So, we got the call Thursday night.

President gave me my transfer call first and said "Sister Dall, you will be staying in the Colony ward, and you will be training a new missionary!" WHAT?! Holy cow, I never saw that coming!!!!!! Oh dear, oh dear oh dear! What is President thinking? So as I'm sure you can guess, I am a huge stressed mess. I've never been so stressed and  nervous in my whole life! But I am excited too, it will be lots of fun. Sister Ogden, who came out with me, and I are the 2 sisters training. She'll be training up in Fairbanks! So that'll be fun. Ahh  but boy am I stressed. Lot's of prayers, that's for sure! So I'll pick her up tomorrow at transfer meeting, and then the fun begins! I'll be with her for 12 weeks, and I don't even know her name. haha it'll be an adventure for sure! Well, that's about all to report on this week. I love you all oodles and pray for you daily. Keep being awesome, expect miracles and love the Lord in all you do!

Trio'in

What a busy week!!!!

To start off the week, we are now in a trio!!! We went to Anchorage night for a dinner at the mission home with all the sisters in the bowl and President and Sister Robinson. It was so so fun. But.... I had to say goodbye to Sister Morrison!!! Saddest thing of my life. I cried. Ahh so that was terrible.
And we got our new companion, Sister Strong! I don't know what I was worried about, she's awesome! She's still pretty shy and not confident in teaching because she's so new, but I love her so much. We get along really well and it's helping a lot.
Trios are a trip! we went to the Trainer-trainee meeting in anchorage with all trainees and trainers. I felt really out of place there because I'm not even a real trainer!! But it was really fun to see everyone there. We had a great zone meeting with trainings just for us!!!! Talk about Heavenly Father being aware. So great.

So conference. Wasn't it just incredible?! I think I died and went to heaven. It was beyond wonderful. Everything was just what I needed to hear and just pumped me up so much!!!!

So I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, and thought a lot about what we were celebrating. Have you all seen the 'because he lives' video? I sure hope so. After watching that so many times, I feel like i've gained so much gratitude for our Savior, in what he went through for us and how much he loves us. Read Mosiah 16:7-9, it's really great and goes along well. Sorry, not much time today. But I love you all so much, as you know. Your prayers really work for us up here and I'm ever so grateful for them. You all are the BEST! Love you!!!

Another day in the life

Well, there's not a whole lot to talk about this week.

Pretty normal week in the life of a missionary. We had another great lesson with Kaylee, at the sweetiest couples house, the castlemans. It went great and they really connected. We have another lesson scheduled with them all tomorrow! We also will get our third companion tomorrow, Sister Strong. That'll be exciting for sure! Hopefully we can make enough room in the tiny cottage to hold all 3 of us. But it's only for 2 weeks :)

We had interviews with President on Friday. That went great. It was really really good to talk with him about things, and to get some advice. I sure do love that man. And then he and Sister Robinson took us out to lunch afterwards, the little sweeties. So that was great.

Things are going alright. Each day is a different struggle, but the work continues. The general women's meeting was FANTASTIC, and I loved it!! My favorite was President Eyring's talk. There was also a community performance of Handle's messiah yesterday, that was outstanding. I think the parents would have enjoyed it with me, Sister Wright didn't like it :)

I'm stoked out of my mind for conference this weekend. It truly is such a huge blessing that we have and I can't wait! Kaylee said she could come to the Saturday sessions, so we're really excited for that, and praying that someone will say something that will hit her. So that will be great!

Thanks for all the prayers, as always. You all are the greatest and I love you to death! Keep up the good work, and remember to expect miracles!!

Hump Day

OOOH WE'RE HALF WAY THERE OHHH OH! LIVING ON A PRAYER!

Ok, I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist. 9 months, holy moly I can't believe it! And it makes me sick, I can't be half way done with my mission!!!!!! WEIRD. But that's ok, because I'm never coming home :)

Anyway, this week was pretty good, we stayed super busy which is my favorite! We had a whole bunch of lessons, and I'm starting to get to know people more and more. So bowling last monday with Kaylee was a success! She was so happy to spend time with us, and we had so much fun. We set up another lesson with her for Saturday! BUT, we got a text on Friday that said she was going through a horrible tragedy, and couldn't meet with us for a few days. We don't know what's wrong, but we're keeping her in our prayers.

My favorite part of the week was.... we got to go to the temple!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh my obsession with the temple is out of this world! I love it so much! So we got to spend almost all day in Anchorage which was the best. We went to the 10 o'clock session and then went out to lunch with our district which was super fun. Then we stopped by the mission office. Oh my goodness I just love it there! All the sweetie little office couples were there and they are so awesome! They were all so happy to see us, especially me because I've been "exiled" my whole mission so I never get to see any of them. President and Sister Robinson were also there so we got to talk with them for a bit which was great!

Oh man.... also Elder Taylor, one of the senior couples, printed off a horrible picture of me, the one where I'm holding a plate with the huge burger that I ate a couple weeks ago, and hung it in the office! So then everyone was commenting on it, and how they couldn't believe that I could eat that whole thing, and it was just #embarrassing. hahah oh man. I also saw the ap's, elder brown and elder babb. They're so cool. Elder Brown was my ZL in FBX, so we're good friends (he's the one from Bountiful who I think is in Shannon's stake!).

Oh man, I almost forgot the most important news. This is huge, get ready for it. WE'RE GETTING IPADS!!!!!! Yep, it's true. The mission is converting to the digital world. I don't know if I should be excited or sad. It's going to be a GREAT tool that will help a ton, but I feel like it'll just be so different and not feel as missionary-ish. But yep, so that's happening.

A cool thing that our ward is doing, is Bishop asked all the active families to have the missionaries over to teach them the first 3 lessons. So we've been going around doing that and it's been great! I love teaching all the families. We get to know them better, they become more familiar with the lessons and it's good practice for us. Might be a suggestion for our ward? It's been super cool. I really do love this ward and all the people.  Man, I'm so grateful I was born into a strong family in the church. I've been learning this stuff for as long as I can remember. I'm so grateful for such wonderful parents who have always taught by example. I have grown up living the gospel and it's a huge huge blessing for which I am eternally grateful. Thanks for all the prayers and love, you all are the BEST!

I think that's about all the news for this week. The weather was pretty good my first week here, about in the 30's. But then it got really cold. And the wind. Oh man the wind! I hate the wind! Church was cancelled a few weeks ago because they had hurricane strong winds. Yep so it's the worst. But all part of the adventure!

I love being a missionary with all my heart and love what I get to do each and every day. I love wearing my name-tag and being noticed as an authorized representative of Jesus Christ everywhere I go. I love how it's not weird for me to bring up religion when I talk to people, because that's what's expected. I love having members entrust us with  their friends to go and teach. I love knowing that the Lord trusts me enough to help in bringing about His work here in Alaska. I love Alaska! And all the wonderful, wonderful people I've met. I love making new friends. I love learning more and more about the gospel each and every day.

I LOVE SEEING MIRACLES.

Life is good.

Roller Coaster

Howdy there. So this week was quite the roller coaster. So here goes, I hope I can do a good enough job and remember everything that happened.

First of all, have you all looked up the 'hastening the work of salvation in the Alaska anchorage mission" page on Facebook? Cause ya should. And share it!

So, We had a pretty busy week, lots of lessons and great things like that. I love how we are able to stay busy! Thursday was pretty fun, we helped set up for the Relief Society birthday party they had, to celebrate the birthday of relief society! And, Kaylee came! We invited her and she was so excited to come. I was a little worried that no one would talk to her and that she would feel awkward with a bunch of older women, but it was a success! Everyone was talking to her and she was just so happy the whole time! Plus, a member invited her and us over for lunch!! Woo hoo it was so great!

Saturday we had exchanges with the Anchorage STL's, Sister Watts and Sister Ogden, my besties from the mtc! I'm not gonna lie, I was really excited. I went to spend the day in Anchorage with Sister Ogden. It was really good to just be able to talk to someone and just kinda relax a little. But we had kind of a crazy experience. We went to go to an appointment with a less-active, with a member with us because he is a single male. We picked up the member and then showed up at his house. He opened the door and came running out, yelling at us. We were a bit confused. He was waving his hand at us, screaming that he had burned his hand. Sure enough, his hand was really burned. It was still smoking! It was really gross, but cool at the same time! He tried to get into our car, but that's a no no for mission rules. So the member we brought with us volunteered to drive him in his car to the emergency room. So we followed them there. He ran into the emergency room, and they took all 3 of us back there with him. Sister Ogden and I are both just super confused and surprised and can't believe this is all happening. So they took him back and the doctors looked at it and pronounced it as a 3rd degree burn. Keep in mind that this whole time, this guy (brother stalker) is yelling and screaming and groaning because it hurts so bad. So they give him all these drugs and treat the wound. It was super nasty and also cool to watch them peel off all the dead burned skin and stuff. (sorry, too much detail?) Once he was all bandaged up, we called the bishop and he and another guy showed up to give him a blessing. So it was kind of a cool experience because it was definitely a blessing that we showed up when we did to help him, and that he was able to receive a blessing.  Hand of God! So that took up most of the day.

That night, we had stake conference back in Wasilla. I am obsessed with church meetings, it was so great! We had a general authority come, Elder Bussy of the 70. He is so cool! They talked about councils, family councils and ward councils and how important they are. It was awesome. I seriously love them to death. We got to shake Elder Bussy's hand after, so brush with fame. Sunday's session was awesome as well. They talked about forgiveness and having christ-like relationships with People. I think that one was for me. I really need to focus everything on just loving my companion and the people with a strong christ-like love. Love is the key to everything!!! So I'm going to work super hard on that.

OH and then we had a big surprise that night. President called us to give us some news..... So Sister Morrison, my trainer, is going home a week and a half early so she can make the start of school. So, her trainee, Sister Strong is going to be joining me and Sister Wright for that week and a half until the end of the transfer. ...... anther trio?! aww man. I know that sister Morrison has been having the hardest time with Sister Strong, and that she's really struggling. So with Sister Wright and my relationship not being the strongest ever, this will just be icing on the cake. Pray of us my friends. It'll only be a week and a half, so I'm praying that it goes well. Sister Strong is still in her training, so I'm basically finishing her training. Weird. ahhh this will be a trip! I know that the Lord is teaching me a whole lot this transfer, and I pray that I can learn everything he wants me to. Hopefully this week goes better and we can grow in unity.

That's about all the excitement for this week. Keep us in your prayers, it's gonna be quite the ride! I love you all. I love this work. I love the Lord and know that it's all in His hands. You're the best, have a fun week!

Love, Sister Dall :)
