Juneau!!!

Well this week was super full of tons of great things!!!

The first notable thing was JUNEAU!!!!

Oh my goodness..... to say I was the happiest missionary on earth would be an understatement. It was fantastic!!! When our plane landed and I saw those beautiful mountains, I felt like I had come home. It was incredible. We got in Wednesday night, and slept in the Sister's apartment with them, and then had all day Thursday!! We started out by visiting Brother Ullmayer!!! Good ole' brother Ullmayer. He's as stubborn as ever. But the Sister's hadn't been visiting him, so I was able to introduce them, have a nice lesson and set up a return appointment. So that will be good. It was good to see the little sweetie. Then we went and had lunch with Sarah!!! Oh my lanta it was so good to see her! The Sister's haven't been meeting with her either, so it was really good to be able to talk about when I was meeting with her, the experiences she had had, and kind of remind her about all of that. She's so cute, I just love
her! Then we went and visited Bishop Leavitt's family. I'm so obsessed with them, they're perfect! It was great catching up with them, and getting all the Juneau news. And I just loved driving through those streets again and seeing all my favorite sights.

After that, we saw Ramona!!! It was so cool to see the difference in her, now that she's been
baptized!!! It was really just the best so see the new light in her countenance. Aww I just love all these people so much!!  And then we ran to the Mikesells, who is in the bishopric. I made him make me some cookie dough, he makes the best cookie dough I've ever had!! And then to dinner!! We had dinner with Liz!!! Oh my goodness, that was easily the highlight of the whole trip. Liz was less active when I was in Juneau, and we spent a lot of time working with her. Well, she's totally active now, and the young women's president!! I could hardly
believe it! I just love Liz with all my heart. I cannot even explain it, she's my absolute favorite person ever! So she fed us dinner, and it was the greatest thing of my life, hearing all about how she came
back into activity, and hearing her tell me how the atonement had really worked in her life. It was truly incredible. It's just so neat to see how the Lord really is willing to work with everyone, regardless of their situation or past. The Lord is amazing! Liz bore her testimony at the end of the night, and boy oh boy was the spirit strong!! Ahhh I was just happier than a tornado in a trailer park!!!  It was the hardest thing to say goodbye. Liz is like one of my best
friends. So it was the worst leaving :(  It was just the greatest feeling in the world to see all these people and to be
recognized, and missed. My heart will forever be in Juneau in the nugget falls ward :) So yep, leaving Juneau the next morning was horrible. I didn't like it at all. I think I have post Juneau depression. Anyway, yep that was my trip.

On Saturday we had the neatest fireside. Elder Johnson of the 70, and Elder Call our area 70 came and had a fireside with all the missionaries, stake presidents and ward councils. It was just the greatest thing ever!! They basically threw down, and told all the ward councils and members to be full-time missionaries, because their
salvation depends upon it. Every missionary's dream! It was incredible, and  because it was coming from general authorities, and not us, people listened. They talked about not judging people that aren't members, and deciding if we think they're ready or not. Don't wait! Invite everyone, because we can never tell when people are
ready. Ah I was just loving it. So that was cool. And then the next day, Elder Call came to our ward! At the end of the meeting, Elder Call got up to speak and said 'we would now like to hear from Sister Dall, and then I will speak.' WHAT?! Ok.... so I got up there, stressing the heck out, wondering what I was going to do, and he pulled me aside and asked me to teach the Restoration and include the first vision, in 3 minutes. ha alrighty! So that's what I did. I've never been so stressed about something my whole life!! It was cray. But I guess it went well. Then I just sat back down. Elder Call then talked about how people can't help but feel the spirit when a set apart full-time missionary shares that lesson, and went on to talk about how everyone needs to hear that message. So that happened. It was nuts!

So I'm sorry that was a lot, and confusing. But this week has been fantastic. I love you all dearly and am just having a blast here in the AAM. Probably more fun than should be allowed.... but it's great!!
Love, Sister Dall :)

I'm going to freeze...

Alright everyone, here we go.

We got our transfer calls Thursday night.

Sister Lind will be staying in Juneau and training a new missionary.
And I'm....
Going to FAIRBANKS!!!!

Holy cow can you say freezing????

I'm going to diiiiiieeeeee.

Seriously, I think right now it's like 7 degrees there. But that's not all. I will be greenie breaking Sister Johnston, (that means she just finished her training) we are white-washing in, and I'm going to be a Sister Training Leader. To say that I am a nervous stressed mess would be an extreme understatement. Holy cow I'm freaking out!!!! I'm leaving my home Juneau!!!! I was so upset when President told me. I said "President, are you sure??" and he said "Sister Dall, the Lord is sure". Well shoot, can't argue with that. Man it's just the worst though!! I won't see Sarah baptized!! Or any of the other cool people we are teaching.

Oh ya!!! We totally set Ramona a soft baptismal date, for the last weekend of November!!! So cool! But yes I am very very sad. My last Sunday in the good old Nugget falls ward was very sad. Then I had to go around to everyone and tell them goodbye.

Dang this is the worst.

But I was praying all week that I would be happy with my transfer call, because I had a feeling I was leaving. So I'm not too upset, I am a little excited to go meet new people and have a VERY different experience. The new responsibilities I will have will sure test me, but the Lord is going to teach me lots of things, I'm sure of it. So this will be quite the adventure. BUT I will see the Northern lights!!!!! Hooray!!! The winter is the best time to see them, and Fairbanks is where people go to see them. So expect pictures! So, yes I am so so sad to be leaving so pray that everything goes smoothly with my first week in Fairbanks. I will be spending tomorrow in anchorage AND I get to go to the temple!!!!! Oh man it's been too long!!!! It's been 4 1/2 months, separation anxiety. Ok sorry not anything else super exciting happened this week. But I will let you know how my first week up north in the frozen tundra goes.

I love you all lots and lots and appreciate all the prayers and emails each week. I have the greatest family on this sweet green earth, keep it up!!

LOVE YOU
Love, Sister Dall

Juneau Lov'in

Hello hello!!

Well, this week was again pretty stellar. Things are happening in Juneau and miracles are happening left right and center, it's the best! First of all, our progress record was more than full, so that was super exciting. It is getting colder here, no snow yet but it is slowly creeping down the mountains....

#prayforme

But today is a sunny day so I think we're gonna hike to the glacier!

Sister Lind and I are just having a blast and it's honestly the best. There are the hard days, but the Lord always surprises us and makes up for them. LIke yesterday when we had 2 investigators at church and 2 less actives! A missionary's dream. But, biggest miracle of my life. We got a text from Sarah and she told us that her husband David had told her it was ok for her to come to church!!!!!!!!!! Shut the front door it's a Christmas miracle!!!! She said she didn't feel ready to come yesterday, but for sure she's coming next week! Can you believe it? David's heart is totally softening!!! We had a huge freak out moment and it was incredible. I'm still just so happy about it. And we are taking the Elders over to her house tonight to give her a blessing because she's worried about having complications with her pregnancy. So basically this is the coolest thing ever and she's totally going to be baptized. I just hope it's while I'm still here. I've been working with her for 4 months and all I want is to see her baptized, because she's so ready!!!

So that was our huge miracle of the week, but small ones happen everyday and I love it. Just living the missionary life. I am obsessed with our ward though and the people here in Juneau so I can't leave!! Transfer calls are in 9 days and I be a stressin. But life goes on...

Hey I hope you all have a fantastic week. I hope you truly know how much I honestly love and miss you all dearly. I think about you all the time and hope everything you are all doing is going well. Keep being awesome, go see meet the mormons and tell everyone and their dog to go see it as well.

Love you, and EXPECT MIRACLES!!!

Conference Miracles

Oh man, I don't even know where to start this week, because it was such a great week and so many wonderful things happened!!

First off, we had zone conference! My first real one since I've been here. We had all of south east Alaska fly in so we had a total of 19 missionaries plus President and Sister Robison. So the 3 sisters in Sitka stayed with us for 3 days and there were 14 elders in the trailer so that was funny. But we had such a blast. We played ultimate frisbee every morning with everyone and it was so much fun! But best part... Meet the Mormons!!!!!!! Ok, most incredible movie of my whole life. I can honestly say it is my favorite movie ever. There are no words to describe it, so I'm sorry. You'll just have to see it for yourself!

And I just loved having the Sitka sister with us. I got to be with Sister Watts again, my little sweetie mtc companion! It was a hoot and a holler.

Second, General Conference!!!! AKA the super bowl for missionaries. Oh man it was incredible! Every talk just got better and better. I feel like it was one of the most amazing conferences ever. And even better, every talk was just perfect for some investigator, or less active. Seriously, so cool. But wait, there's more. We texted Sarah to ask her if she would be watching it and she said she would check it out. She texted us yesterday and told us she loved it, and that she was staying home all day to watch the next two sessions, and that her husband was watching it too!!!!! What the.... MIRACLE!!!! David watched conference! If you had told me 3 months ago that David would be watching conference, I would have never believed it. The church must be true. So that's incredible.

with her mission president

Zone conference

Also, our less active Liz was in Anchorage this week, so she met up with Sister Morrison to have a lesson with her there. They took Liz to the church to watch conference! Do you know how huge that is? Massively huge. They said Liz was bawling through the whole thing. I never would have imagined that Liz would be watching conference, so basically miracles happen. I was so excited when I found out, I had a freak out moment and it was the best.

So this week was a little crazy and out of the ordinary, which I actually liked. It's nice to sometimes get a little change in the daily schedule. But it will be good to go back to the normal life this week. I'm just so excited to see what happens with Sarah and her husband, it's going to be so good, I just know it!

I hope you all enjoyed conference as much as I did. Now the next step is to read and re-read all the talks, and then act on what they are telling you. I have read every talk from last conference probably 3 times and it's incredible how much more I get out of them, and how much easier it is to follow the council given. But I'm sure you already know that, you seasoned followers of Christ. I want to hear what all of your favorite talks are and why you liked them, and what you're going to change in your life because of them!

Hey, I love you classy people, keep being super awesome. Love you sweeties!!!

Transfers

Shalom!
Alright, this week was a wee bit cray cray. Me & Sister Morrison flew to anchorage on tuesday, and I flew out on wednesday. Man it was SO good to see other missionaries! I have been stuck around the same 5 for 3 months. And I got to see all my little mtc friends!!! I was SO happy. Not to mention that a general authority taught us all day, so basically I was in heaven.

Reunited at zone conference with Sister Watts and Odgen

And I picked up my new comp, Sister Lind!!! Oh my word. So here's the thing. I didn't think I would ever get along with anyone as well as I did with Sister Watts, and then I got Sister Morrison. I never thought I would get along with someone as well as Sister Morrison, and now I have sister Lind!! She is a hoot and a holler, we are already best friends! She's from Montana, so a country girl, but we totally have the same sense of humor and we are ALWAYS laughing. I think sometimes we have too much fun... But we've been together for less than a week and I already know this will be a great transfer.

It's a little different because I know everyone and the area and stuff, and have to take the lead a little. But it feels so great that I know everyone and that everyone knows me. I loved church yesterday because I love being able to walk up to anyone and talk to them and feel comfortable around them. We also had the dedication for the new chapel last night and it was super cool, once in a lifetime type thing.

We had a miracle the other day. So we were doing our Saturday night Caroling to less actives, and I had the idea to go see our less active Liz. (the one who's alcohol we dumped out). We sang her a song and she totally started crying. Then I asked her if there was anything we could do for her, and she said "sisters, I'm glad you brought the elders because I need a blessing." Dude that's so huge for Liz to be asking for a blessing!!! So of course right away our new District Leader elder Harris steps up to give her a blessing. The spirit was booming and the blessing was perfect for her. She's going to Anchorage for 3 weeks for training for a new job so she's nervous. Anywho, it was super super cool, and miracles happen!

Ok, I'm running out of time. But the other day I was just thinking how cool it is to be a missionary. I have such an added measure of confidence with this name tag on, and I love it. I can walk up to any person and start talking to them, and it's no big deal. People can ask me questions about our religion and I can answer it. I am a representative of Jesus Christ and His Spirit is always with me when I'm being obedient. It's experiences like the one we had with Liz that make all the hard times so worth it. There is no better thing ever, I'm convinced of it. I decided I'll just be a missionary forever.

SO I hope you all have the best week, and remember that as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, you are also representatives of Jesus Christ. You have the calling to share His gospel, this good news that we have, with everyone around us. It's not fair to keep it all to ourselves!! Love you all!!!

Expecting Miracles

Alrighty folks, week 12!
Possibly my last week in beautiful Juneau.
I may cry.

Transfer calls are on Friday and I am freaking out. I can't sleep or eat and I'm a horrible stress mess. But it is what it is. So yes, the last couple weeks were very hard. BUT, here's the testimony builder. The Lord tries our faith and then rewards us. And He promises to always reward us. And we found that out this week!

Sister Morrison and I were at the end of the rope, just so done with having no work. But miracles happen. On Friday the Elders told us they were going to the state archive building to help out so we tagged along and ended up staying for about 3 hours. It was actually pretty fun and we all bonded. We were sorting through old death certificates, and one said the cause of death was floating out on an iceberg while hunting seal and he fell in the water and drowned/froze. Only in Alaska.

Then we had an early dinner and ended up meeting with a very less active couple that were excited to see us, showed us all over their garden and work-in-progress kitchen remodel, where I was able to tell them about our experience with that and now they love us. So that took awhile and was a miracle. The Lord filled up our day! The next day we had a service project up in the mountains, clearing out an old trail that was overgrown. It was pouring rain the whole time but was actually really fun. It was with the elders and some YSA peeps. We were soaking wet by the end, but turns out hacking down a rainforest is actually fun! We also got to look through an old gold mine museum up there, and I was in heaven. I'm obsessed with museums!

Then our district started this thing where on Saturday nights we all meet up and go visit one or two families from each ward and sing to them. Our Saturday night caroling. Everyone we visit really loves it and it's always a mini miracle that we show up to that particular house. So the Lord filled up that day too. And yesterday was the best of all! We had 4 investigators at church and 4 less actives, such a miracle!!! I literally couldn't stop grinning for all 3 hours, I was so happy! We also had dinner with the greatest member missionary family yesterday, and they invited a less active family that we were able to have a lesson with. That's what it's all about!

So basically, yes we had a hard couple of weeks, but the Lord was testing our faith and had something very good in store for us. Prayer works, and the Lord is definitely hastening His work!

Oh hey. We went over for dinner at the Rosenbruch's house this week and I saw the Dall sheep on the wall and knew I had to take a picture with it.

I pray for you everyday and miss you a lot! Keep up being great missionaries and looking for opportunities everyday. President Eyring said: "You hold in your hands, the happiness of more people than you can imagine" Remember to expect miracles!!!!!

Love, Sister Dall

p.s also, you might have the wrong address written down or something because I haven't been getting all your hand written letters.... weird

Week 11!

Holy cow, it's week 11! I can't believe it.

This week was actually pretty rough. Just very slow, and we don't have nearly as much work as we would like. But hey, it's just a trial of our faith that we are pressing through and learning from! I've decided that I'm very glad I brought rain gear because I've forgotten what it's like to live without constant rain. And since we will probably be tracting for the next 2 weeks, hopefully it will all keep me dry. Interesting news, there are some people going around pretending to be LDS missionaries, in white shirts and ties and teaching people ani-mormon things. Talk about prophecies being fulfilled, false prophets! We don't know what to really do about it though. There's also a local christian radio here and someone told us the other day that they were talking about lds sister missionaries walking around Juneau and that we couldn't teach about the Holy Ghost because we didn't know enough about it. Funny cause then we showed up to bro Ullmayer's house and taught a lesson on the holy ghost...

Other news, we had a lesson with Sarah the other day and she's still doing so great. Big news.... David read some of the book of Mormon!!!!! It's a straight up miracle!!!!! His heart is just being softened right before our eyes, and Sarah can see it too. Prayer works!!!! So I know it's only a matter of time before the whole family is baptized, just hope I'm around to see it.

Last P-day the elders decided they wanted me to teach them ballet, so we had a mini ballet lesson which equaled the funniest thing of my life. I was dying laughing. Then they wanted me to show them how to stretch. Also hilarious.
So not a very eventful week, just pray for us that we will find more work soon!! Poor sister Morrison has been here in Juneau for 7 months and is about to throw in the towel.

I love and miss you all, and don't worry about me. It's hard, but that's all part of the mission. I'm learning and being shaped into the person the Lord want's me to be. Sacrifice brings for the blessings of heaven, and then we can expect miracles!!!

Open houses

Week 10??? Dude we're in double digits here!!

So this week has been oh so crazy. We had the church open house thursday friday and saturday and then a fireside yesterday. So tuesday was spent getting all our displays and everything ready. Sister Morrison and I were in charge of a book of mormon and bible display, and a missionary board with all the people living in Juneau and where they've served. Lot's of work. Then wednesday we spent ALL day tracting with the open house cards, and calling all our less-actives and active members to remind them about it, and to bring all their friends. Tracting was quite the experience. Luckily it was sunny!! About 74 degrees, HEAVENLY! I think we got tan lines on our feet. But we met some interesting people.

One lady yelled at us (more like screamed) to get off her property and take all our crazy morman stuff with us and to never step foot near her again. Another man answered the door holding a gian shot gun. Don't worry, we sweet talked him into putting the gun down, and he ended up agreeing to come to the open house! So ya know, a day in the life.

endless open houses with my district

So after hours of work, standing around and trying to corner people into giving us their contact info, giving countless tours of the building, helping the elders with their display because of course they didn't do it on their own, calling and tracting all over Juneau and saying more prayers than I thought possible....

The open house is over!

And... 0 referrals.
0 contact info.
Nothing.

But hey, we tried our very best, and I think we planted some seeds. It's just a little disapointing but The Lord obviously has something else in mind. but I'm glad it's all over.

The musical fireside last night was the perfect way to end it all. It was soooo good. Oh! We also had to speak in church yesterday, and teach sunday school and bear our testimonies at the fireside. Talk about stressful. Plus I'm sick so it's just been the best. Not too sick, but enough that it's annoying and all I want to do is sleep for days. But the work continues! I'm excited to get back to normal missionary work this week, and see who the Lord is preparing for us.

We had another lesson with sarah, and she basically told us she would be the perfect mormon. So we asked her to pray to see if God wants her to be baptized. She said she would, I'm so stoked to see what she says! And, her husband read some of the B.O.M!!! This is downright a miracle. So that's super exciting.

Oh, I also passed my little drivers test so I know have an official Alaska drivers license! Praise the heavens, the picture on my last one was frightening. So ya that's super cool and stuff.

I pray for you all everyday, and think of you often. Hope you're all keeping busy, and remember to spread the gospel, and work with the missionaries, because they need your help!!! You are the best!
Love you!!

Open House

Alright, wow, week 9?!!! Time sure does fly when you're having fun!
So this week wasn't too exciting. I mean we did get about 10 inches of rain just this week, and had flood warnings.

It never stopped raining, and sister Morrison and I highly considered building an arc -_-

But that's the norm for the rain forest that is Juneau Alaska. It's starting to get dark at night time. Like legit dark. Pretty sure most of it is the constant cloud cover, but still. I'd forgotten what darkness looked like, but saw it last week, weird.

So for our investigators.... We weren't able to meet with Sarah this week because she's been busy, but she wants to meet twice this week to make up for it, she's on fire!! Not sure what the status of her husband is yet, but we're still praying for him. (his name is david) But the biggest thing this week is we have the open house and tours for the new church building. We have been tracting up the wazoo, and making everyone tell their friends and relations, so we are praying super hard we have a great turn out. Our district is going to fast all day Wednesday so that will be the best! We need the work to pick up here in Juneau so pray that we get a ton of work out of this open house!!
tracting with these cards for DAYSSSSS

Brother Ullmayer prayed this week, on his own!!!!!!!!! Praise the heavens, it's a Christmas miracle!! And... he came to church again!!! This is big. We kind of laid down the law last lesson, and I think it's getting him going a bit more.
Loy and Ludy kinda half dropped us. :( They said they were 99 percent mormon already and didn't want to get baptized so we should spend our time talking with people who didn't believe all this stuff. But we told them we'll keep meeting with them every other week. Hopefully they Holy Ghost will confirm to them that they need to be baptized into this church!

So the other day it was raining really hard, all of our appointments had fallen through so we went tracting. We were both pretty upset and just not excited at all. But when we got back in the car after tracting for about an hour, we had a voicemail from an unknown number. It was some lady that we had tracted, and left an open house card with, and she said she just wanted to thank us for our willingness to serve God, and even though she's not Mormon, she knows how hard it must be for us, and just wanted to commend us. Wow, it was so cool!!! It just made our day and made everything worth it. Tender mercy!

Sister Morrison also refers to me as her baby dall so that's fun.

Ok so there's this amazing talk in the ensign this month about why we do missionary work. If you haven't read it yet, you should. It's on pg. 35 and it's amazing. Then read these scriptures, 1 Peter 2:21, 3:15, 4:8. I thought it was awesome.
Glad to hear the house is almost done, how exciting!! You all are the best, thanks for the prayers, they are helping a ton! Keep hastening the work of salvation, and EXPECT MIRACLE

Miracles

Hello hello again!

Wow, so this week was completely full of MIRACLES

Left right and center they were thrown at us and it was the best! Sister Morrison and I decided for this transfer we were going to work super hard and be diligent and obedient to the max so that we could bring miracles. So during the week we saw a ton of people that we normally could NEVER meet with so that was a ton of little miracles.

On wednesday we got the impression to text Sarah and ask her if she wanted a personal tour of the new church. (she still has never come to church). She said 'yes! When???" oh my gosh we were so excited! So we set it up for Thursday, and she texted back 'i'm going to try and get my husband there, pray for him'. holy cow. So her husband is almost anti-mormon because he really doesn't like the church, and is comfortable in his church which he's been raised in his whole life. So we prayed super hard all day. We got to the church a little bit early the next day so we could make sure everything was ready. We said a prayer before Sarah came, and low and behold we watch as Sarah AND her husband get out of their car!!!!! It was the biggest miracle! He was soooo nice and asked a lot of questions, it was the best. After we ended in the chapel, and let them sit in quiet for a bit and just ponder. We went up and shared a scripture with them and then just answered questions and talked. they stayed there for a good 30 minutes, and we could tell it was because of the spirit that they felt.

Oh man, it was just the coolest.
Pray for them!

Another cool miracle is that we went over to an active member's house for dinner the other night, and there was a 24 year old kid there that was staying with them for some reason. The wife of the family who's house it was had basically taught him the first 2 lessons, and then asked us to tell him a little bit about what we do as missionaries. So we had dinner, and then the families daughter had a friend over that we've been teaching. So we decided to teach her the next lesson. (yes I had no idea we would be teaching her so I was so grateful I'd already taught lesson 3 and didn't need to prepare) This kid (harrison) decided to sit through the lesson, participated and asked a bunch of great questions. And... he totally came to church yesterday!! It was the coolest! He's definitely here for a reason and the Lord is preparing him. So cool! Se we'll see if anything happens with that.

Oh, so John Bytheway came last week to give a devotional, because he was on a cruise here. It was the best. We saw him coming up to the building just as we were getting there, and he shook our hands. He asked us where we were from, and I told him Salt Lake. He looked at my nametag and put it together. He goes 'Avery is your sister'. and I said yep! So then he got all excited and insisted we take a selfie. So he did, and then sent it to his wife to send to his daughter Ashley, so Avery find out if that picture ever got to her. Super fun!

We went to visit a new couple that moved into the ward last week, and the wife mentioned that she had an old car down in their garage. Dad, you will appreciate this. I made her take me out to see it, a 1963 firebird. I was dying. I wanted to ask her to start it up so I could hear that engine, but I decided not to since it was like 9 at night. I also had the hardest time not watching a college football game that was on tv. :(

Our landlord also brought us over some alaskan king crab. The real deal. Needless to say I was excited.

So this week was a miracle week, we had 8 investigator lessons, which is a big deal for Juneau. We are just busy hastening the work!!!!

Keep up the great missionary work in good old Salt Lake. Remember that the Lord rewards everyone, not just missionaries, when we are obedient to His commands.

Look for the miracles that are in your life EVERYDAY.

Because they are there.

I love you all so so so so much, have a great week!!

Loving Juneau

Hey hey hey, last week of the transfer!!

But I'll probably still be here for another transfer because I'm in training. We get transfer calls on friday so we'll see.. man the time goes by fast. You trekies sound like you've had a blast. I'll admit I am a wee bit jealous. That sounded so cool! But then I remember I'm in alaska where it's a steady 65 degrees with a light mist, gigantic mountains all around, bears wandering the streets with bald eagles overhead and I'm spending every waking hour thinking about the gospel. So nope, I win!! Haha jk.

This week was again full of miracles. The biggest was our investigator Sarah. We taught her about Prophets last week and this week we when we met with her again, she told us that she got on LDS.org and looked up conference talks and listened to like 3!!!!! We didn't even tell her to! Like who does that?? And she listened to the best ones, pres Monson's about Love is the essence of the gospel, and it talks about Juneau! MIRACLE!! So needless to say when we got in the car we blasted when you believe from prince of egypt. It was so cool. And she just keeps saying how she's excited to see what the Lord has in store for her.

I wanted to yell,

"This gospel!!!!!"

but decided not to.

Oh, other cool thing, we totes had an earth quake!!!!!! My first one!!!!! It was at like 3 in the morning, and woke us up. It was a 6.3 in Gustavis which is about 75 miles away from us. And it lasted for about a minute. Coolest thing ever!!!!
Another fun thing we do here is go work at the state archive building with 2 senior couples. They photograph Alaskan records and put them up for people to index. So we go over there once a week to help out. The Brinkerhoffs live upstairs from us and are from Manti and are obsessed with fishing. The Schwantes are from Kodiak and are the cutest. So that's fun!

Oh, I also finally had some moose meat!!! It's so good! I love it a lot.

Alright, this week I wanna talk about talents. How the Lord has blessed each of us with specific talents for specific reason. I think that the talents we are blessed with are clues as to what He wants us to do here on the earth. Just think about that a little. We also have many talents that we don't realize as talents. Not just things like music and sports, but better things like attributes and that stuff. So be on the look out this week for what the Lord has blessed you with, and why He might have blessed you with it.

Also remember that The Lord doesn't measure height, He measures growth. I've thought about that a lot whenever I get down on myself for not being as good a missionary as I would like. It's all about the journey here, not the destination.

You all are the bees knees, and I love you!!

A New Jeep and a New Mission President

Can you believe it's already week 5?? Only 2 more weeks in the transfer, man times goes too fast!
Biggest news of the week, we finally got to meet President and sister Robinson!!!!!!!!!!
Oh. My. There are no words that can describe how amazing they are, and how much I love them! Seriously, I've tried in my journal but I cannot explain how much love it fills me with to just think about them.

COOLEST PEOPLE.

They flew in on Wednesday, and all of us met them at the airport with a big banner. They almost started crying and said that was the sweetest thing. Yay first impressions! haha then we had to let them drive our BRAND NEW JEEP so they wouldn't have to rent a car. Yes, we got our jeep! it's soooo nice, we love it!

So we had a testimony meeting with Pres on Thursday and then personal interviews. President said, 'sister Dall, we have the next 17 months together, and we are going to be great friends.' Oh my, I am stoked!!! They are both so personable, it's the greatest. And little sister Robinson is just the cutest. I feel like they are my second parents already.

So that night, we took sis. Robinson to a lesson with us. We took her to our crazy investigator, Ramona. She's from the Dominican Republic and you can hardly understand her, plus she has 3 insane kids. And when I say insane, I mean insane. They never have a lack of energy and just chuck stuff at you, and yell and are... wow. So we were a little nervous to take sis robinson there, but we felt like we should. Oh my, she was the sweetiest sweety with them. It was a crazy lesson, but she did awesome. I got the little 7 year old to say the prayer at the end which was good. When we were walking out, we were all ready to start appologizing to her, but she almost started to cry, saying that was the coolest thing for her to be a part of. She said she was so proud of us, and that we are truley missionaries called of god. So like, yay that was good!! She just went on and on about it. Then driving home, we turned a corner and a big bear was just chillin, walking across the road. It was so cool! And of course we all freaked out and started trying to get our cameras, but we didn't get them in time. But sis Robinson was so excited to finally see a bear! When we took her back to their hotel, President was pulling up with the elders. And of course sis. Robinson just ran and told them everything that happened, it was so cute. The next day we had to say goodbye to them at the airport, and we were so sad. But yep, that was the greatest!!
Oh man, last p-day all the missionaries got together at the church to play games. We played ultimate spoons, where the spoons are hidden throughout the church. Dude it was so intense. I had a gnarley bruise on my face from an elders elbow for about a week, but it's gone now. We don't mess around when it comes to spoons, it was legit.

I had to speak in chuch yesterday, so that's cool. I think it went pretty well, I don't even remember what I said. It was on preparing our families for missionary work!
So miracle for the week. (out of the millions)
We were at our investigator Sarah's house for a lesson, and she had invited her friend over, who decided to stay for the lesson. Her name is Blayn. She was asking so many great questions, and we were so excited to give her a bom and some pamphlets. She told us about her friend that just got sealed in the temple, so we talked about temples and she got so pumped. It was all we could do not to jump out of our seats for joy! We were soooo excited, missionaries dream!!! This is the life, seriously! And it totally made every bad day worth it! ahhhhhhhhh so cool.
Also I've been thinking a lot about how sorry I am for the rest of you that don't get to see beautiful Juneau everyday, and I do. Seriously, we get up everyday and see the HUGE mountains, with clouds just resting right at the bottom, with the lake around them. Pictures just don't even come close, so ya know, we'll just have to come back here. Summer, 2016! And the sun came out today!!!! I can count on one hand how many times I've seen the sun since I've been here. It's a miracle!
So for your assignemnt this week you need to look up Elder Scott's talk in the June 2014 Ensign. It's about prayer, and it's sooo cool. He talks about different answers we revieve to our prayers and I think it's awesome. Lemme know your thoughts on it.

Remember, I love you all dearly. I hope that continues to move forward!
Keep being missionary minded and remember, we as members of the church are called to invite. The Spirit is the teacher, but we have to invite!!

Kisses sweeties!

Juneau Week 4

Sup yo homies,

This week I've found myself reciting that well written poem I wrote when I was a youngster...

The day has come, the sky is gray, it's gonna rain.

And everyday, I'm right! Apparently June was the wettest june Juneau has ever seen. So the other day, it was down pouring. In Juneau, it's always a constant misty rain. But it was pouring buckets. There's a famous glacier here, the Mendenhal glacier, perhaps you've heard of it. But it has slowly been receding which caused a lake to form at the top of the basin. Well, with all the rain, it was filling too much, and exploded. So millions of gallons of water came crashing down the river that usually ran smoothly, into the valley. It was crazy. The streets were flooded everywhere, and people were being evacuated. So that day we received about 7 inches of rain, which is the most ever recoreded for one day here.
WOW.

Also, we were tracting in it. Just imagine 3 little sweetie sisters walking down streets knocking on peoples doors while the rain is almost literally washing us away. Good thing I had those awesome waterproof boots and nice trench coat!! Oh and I tripped over nothing and face planted it. Yep, I looked real good when we showed up to our dinner appointment and the right side of my body was drenched. Well, more drenched than the rest.

Anywhoo....other things. I'm now a pro at texting on a classy flip phone. Which is also invincible because we dropped it in a puddle and didn't know it and found it like an hour later and it's still alive. Oh, big news....

FRIDAY WAS MY ONE MONTH MARK. Woo hoo!!!!!!! Can't even belive it.

We taught Brother Ullmayer last week, the restoration. Man, it was insane. He hasn't been receptive to missionaries before, but I think he's starting to finally get it. So I got to recite Joseph Smith's first vision to him, and I can't even describe the kind of spirit that I was feeling. I was almost in tears, yet I couldn't breath because the spirit was so strong. So that was super cool.

Also, our other investigaor Sarah, had some super cool experiences that she knows had the Lords hand in them. She is being prepared by the Lord, we have no doubt. But her husband is really not liking her meeting with us, so she doesn't want to commit to baptism to keep him happy. So pray to soften his heart. But there were so many miracles this week!!

Oh, and there are cute little Dall sheep all the time just chillin on the mountains. It's the coolest, and people always point them out to me. It's the best because we work in the valley, and literally right at the foot of these huge mountains that are sooooo pretty. And when it's raining (almost always) there are clouds and fog just wrapping around them perfectly, I wish you guys could see how beautiful it is.

It's so crazy to see how much I've changed, just in one month. I don't have any of the same desires like I used to. I don't care about not watching tv, or seeing movies. I don't care about not listening to music. All I want is to see the people here we are working with progress. It's 100% the Lord's hand. I love it!!

Ok, to follow up from last week, how did you do? Was your sabbath day more holy?? Great!!
So this week I wanted to talk about member missionary work, because it's made the hugest difference here. S
eriously, we would have almost nothing to do if it weren't for the constant missionary efforts being made by our awesome ward. Just because I have a nametag it doesn't mean you can't all do this wonderful work. Work with the missionaries in our ward/stake. Help them out. Always be looking for people to teach or share the gospel with. Pray everyday for missionary opportunities, because they will come. And i'll be checking in next week to see how you do!!

Never forget how much I love you all, keep hastening the work of salvation!!

JUNEAU

Hey hey hey, how is it in the lower 48?
That's what we Alaskans call y'all down south.

Soooo where to begin?? So Sister Morrison is from Long beach California and Sister Dill is from Idaho Falls. Totally a cowgirl that lived on a farm.
So it doesn't rain EVERYDAY. But it's overcast almost everyday, and rains like 5 out of 7 days. Little info about Juneau, it's about 550 miles from the mission office in Anchorage, and Canada is about 10 miles away from us. There are a ton of polys here and they're so cool. Our zone consists of Juneau, Sitka, Wrangle, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Metacatla, Whitehorse, and Scagway. All of them have to Skype in for meetings so the only missionaries we ever see are the 4 other elders.

Our ward is the Nugget Falls ward and lemme tell you, they are the bomb.com. Seriously, coolest ward of my life. All super missionary minded, which is why there's so much success here. We get about 15 member findings a week, which is super cool!! Also, our bishop, bishop Levitt is off the wall incredible. He was a missionary here and about a year ago he and his wife had a strong impression they needed to move here. So they dropped everything in Utah and moved here about 6 months ago. 3 months later he was made bishop, and about 2 weeks ago he was a huge help in baptizing a family that the sisters taught. He said that that was the reason he moved here, and it's just incredible how awesome he is.

So people here in AK are super crazy and hilarious. All the houses are ghetto and made of wood because brick would grow too much moss and mold I guess. They are all super mountain men, free spirits and all natural. Here's a typical lesson with a less active. Sitting on a nasty couch as 3 screaming children run rampant. One boy pulls off him pants and underwear and starts running around naked. One chucks a stuffed dinosaur at our heads and the mom is trying to serve us lemonade, not even trying to contain the children. So a stripping lemonade party in Jurassic park. Very normal. Also I'm being devoured by mosquitoes. I might go insane. It looks like I have a disease. Any other questions??? Ask away. And write me letters!! Packages are also so great.

Ok, miracle of the week. The other day a member told us to drop by her friends house who wasn't a member. So we did. She wasn't interested and said if she wanted to know more she could ask her Mormon friends. So we didn't think much of it and left. Later that week someone told us that that lady had been reading in the bible earlier that day and read something about 3 sisters that would meet her. And lo and behold the trio of sister showed up at her door. SUPER COOL. So that right there could be why I'm in a trio.

Thought of the week:
How much thought do you put into the Sabbath day? We know there are things we're not supposed to do, but how often do we remember what we are supposed to do? Don't get me wrong, sunday naps are the best. But maybe just for 30 minutes. We have been told not to abstain from certain things on sunday, but be feeding ourselves spiritually all throughout the day. visiting people, studying, listening to conference talks, reading the friend and ensign, all that good stuff. And also, talk about what you learned in church at dinner. Then, talk about it through the week. Sometimes sunday just stays on sunday. But we learn what we learn so it can help us throughout the week. And then SHARE WHAT YOU LEARN. I'm telling ya, that's the way to successful missionary work. We don't find investigators from tracting. It's all from member missionary work.

You can do it!

You all are the best. keep being awesome and try not to miss me too much. haha Love ya!!
